Woohoo!

After what looked like a pretty dismal offseason for my beloved Redbirds, they are off to a 12-7 start. Not spectacular, but good enough for second place in the NL central right now after losing 2 straight to the pitiful Giants. The great news is that this is happening without their 2 best pitchers, Carpenter and Mulder. These are Cy young caliber pitchers currently sidelined because of injury, so the rotation is probably overperforming, but at the very least is performing above expectations.

No more Rolen! No more Edmonds!

I am quite bummed that the Cardinals will be without the services of Jim Edmonds and Scott Rolen this year. I've watched both of them for the last 5 years or so, and it's has been a treat to have them tear it up for my beloved Cardinals. I'm glad they each got a ring in an STL uni. Both players were stand up guys, and that makes it a little worse even because you want people of integrity representing things that are important to you. It (usually) doesn't matter what kind of organization you have, if you have jerks and liars at the top, that organization won't stand the test of time. Hopefully, Edmonds and Rolen will end their respective careers on high notes. Let's get this show on the road for 2008! I'm gonna need to get a new yoga mat to practice my poses while I'm watching the games.
