The Internet provides you a way to reach million of people all over the world. If you want to grow your yoga business, now is a great time to start educating yourself on all the different online media that is at your fingertips. The following are all free and fairly easy to use. Please, please don’t be a technology hag! Be a revolutionary, flexible yoga educator!

1. Facebook - I use it to send out invitations to my workshops and yoga teacher trainings and keep in contact with my students.

2. Craig's list - I get tons and tons of clients using Craig's list. I pay the $10 to post under therapeutic, however you can post for free in any of the other categories, including education.

3. Building Link - Many communities and apartment buildings now have a web site where all the people in the building get a page and can send out invites and stuff to their neighbors - I have gotten many clients using my building link.

4. Free Commercials using YouTube/Google Video - I have a YouTube channel for short videos that I create. I put my longer videos up on Google Video. These are free and fairly easy to use. If you have an iPhone, you can take videos wherever you are and immediately post them to YouTube.

5. Twitter - You can get people to follow you and stay in the forefront of people’s minds. The more you post, generally the more followers you will get. Follow me on twitter!

6. eZine - I write expert articles and publish them on eZine and it helps me get picked up by search engines! This is just one of many sites like it and the more sites you can post content to, the more opportunities search engines will have to show you to the world!

7. Blogs - You can set up a free blog using WordPress. Serves many of the same purposes as Twitter and Facebook, but allows for more in depth content. For a really great free ebook on how to make money blogging go to www.retireat21.com.

8. Email - I have used constant contact and icontact and have recently upgraded to myeasyonlinestore to send out yoga newsletters and keep my clients and students interested in what I am doing.  With all the distractions you need to be in constant contact with your clients. There are other email programs you can use as well, just find one and use it! Keeping an organized mailing list is crucial to maintaining a relationship with the people you attract with your newly expanded web presence.

9. Google Maps- Getting your business up on google maps is free! Look into doing this. I get many clicks from my google map listing.

10. Yelp!- Get yourself on Yelp! It's free and another way that people can find you and write about your services.

Long story short, a strong web presence can be the factor that rockets your yoga business into a huge success. Rather than putting all your energy into one of these avenues, the idea is to spread your presence amongst all available venues to reach the largest possible audience. Do your best to connect everything in some way. If you write an ezine article be sure to twitter about it, facebook about it and write an email including a link to the article. Soon you will have a web presence and you’ll be pleasantly surprised with the results.
